The Alps by train

Some of the most beautiful places in the Alps are best seen through a train window. Switzerland’s mountain railways run over viaducts, through tunnels and past glaciers.

What the trip is like

We fly to Zurich or Milan and carry on by train — a few hours a day, with nights in small towns below the peaks. Luggage can travel separately, so you are free.

When

Summer is for green valleys and walks, winter for snow and cosiness. The panoramic trains are booked in advance, so the dates in our programme are fixed.
