Greece in early summer

In June the sea in Greece is already warm and the beaches are not yet full. The days are the longest of the year and the prices lower than in August.

Where

• Halkidiki — the closest to Sofia, with pine woods down to the shore.
• Thassos — a green island a short ferry away.
• The Peloponnese — quiet bays, old towns and ancient sites nearby.

What to take

Sun cream, a hat and water shoes — many of the bays are stony. The evenings by the sea are cool, so you will want a cardigan.
