Luggage on a flight: the rules in brief

Every airline has its own sizes and weights for luggage, but some rules are the same everywhere.

In your hand luggage

• Liquids up to 100 ml in a clear bag, up to one litre in total.
• Power banks and lighters — in hand luggage only, never in the hold.
• The medicines you take every day, and your documents.

In your checked luggage

Scissors, penknives and big bottles. Weigh your suitcase at home — excess weight at the airport is expensive.

The instructions for every trip say which luggage is included in the price.
